Microblading - Semi-Permanent Makeup in Oxford

Microblading uses an ultra-fine, manual blade to place pigment strokes just under the skin, mimicking real hair. Because strokes sit higher than machine-made tattoos, they fade gradually (about 12–18 months) and look more natural. Pigment shade, stroke density and direction are customised for your skin tone, hair colour and brow goals.

Most clients enjoy crisp colour for 12–18 months. Skin type, sun exposure and after-care all matter: oily or sun-loving skin fades faster, drier skin holds pigment longer. A perfecting visit at 6–8 weeks (included in the price) locks in shade; a Colour-Boost at 12–24 months keeps brows looking freshly groomed.

Discomfort is minimal—clients describe it as light scratching. We apply a medical-grade topical anaesthetic before and during the session and monitor your comfort throughout. Most people rate the sensation 2–3 out of 10 and chat easily while we work.

Every treatment is performed by Nancy, Beauty Bee’s founder. She holds a VTCT Level 4 in Micropigmentation, is a full member of the Semi Permanent Makeup Union(SPMU) and regularly teaches masterclasses in Hong Kong and Singapore. You are never passed to a junior artist.

Days 1–3 — brows appear 15–20 % darker and slightly warmer. Days 4–7 — light flaking; colour looks pale. Weeks 2–4 — true shade resurfaces as skin renews. Follow the after-care kit we provide: keep the area clean and dry, apply balm twice daily, and avoid heavy workouts, sauna, steam and sunbeds for 10 days.

Yes. A quick pigment patch must be done at least 24 hours beforehand to rule out rare allergies and meet insurance requirements. It’s free and takes five minutes—book online or drop in during opening hours.

We cannot treat anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, on blood thinners, undergoing chemotherapy, has uncontrolled diabetes or a history of keloid scarring. If you have an existing brow tattoo, psoriasis in the brow area, recent Accutane use, or other medical concerns, please email photos or a doctor’s note before booking.

Often yes—if the old pigment has faded at least 70 % and the shape allows correction. Email a clear, makeup-free photo in daylight; Nancy will advise whether colour correction or removal is needed before new strokes are added.

Book a single-visit Colour-Boost when strokes have lightened by about 50 %—typically 12–24 months after your initial course. The session takes around 60 minutes and refreshes both colour and definition.
